After a more complex administrative process than anticipated, it has been revealed that two men close to Ulises Lara could hold important positions in Mexico City. Among the positions to be defined, the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office stands out for leading crucial investigations in the local political landscape.
José Gerardo Huerta Alcalá, current head of the Internal Affairs Unit of the Public Prosecutor's Office and close to Ernestina Godoy and Ulises Lara, would be one of the selected candidates. Meanwhile, Daniel Osorio Roque, coordinator of Auxiliary Public Prosecutor's Agents, is about to lead the fight against electoral crimes.
Advances in negotiations by the ruling party bring the discussion on these appointments in the local Congress closer for next week. The confirmation of other vacant positions in the central government, such as specialized prosecutors, is also expected.
The Palacio de Donceles is preparing to address the appointments of the specialized prosecutors, including the one responsible for combating corruption and electoral crimes. Despite Ulises Lara's departure in January, his influence still remains in the city.
In this context, Ulises Lara, former prosecutor of CDMX, left his position earlier this year, with Bertha Alcalde being his successor.
